Split nuts

A split nut is a nut that is divided longitudinally into two different opposing parts so that the female part can be opened and also closed on the male thread of the bolt or lead screw.

This feature allows the nut to move along the screw only when it is open, without turning the screw and vice versa. Once the nut is closed, it will resume the normal movement of the nut on the screw. This will include axial rotation.

There is a split nut assembly that is typically used for its positioning system. For example, the best example can be the lead screw of a lathe. This is one of the best machine components that will certainly make single point threading practical on manual and non-CNC lathes. Often, the screw and nut are also coated with oil to complete the lubrication process. These are the prescribed types to extend the life of the threads by reducing wear and tear.

Square nuts

The square nut refers to a nut pattern designed in a very uncommon quadrilateral shape. With reference to their comparison with standard hexagonal nuts, these nuts have a larger contact surface with the part being fastened and therefore offer greater resistance in terms of loosening or tightening resistance. Unlike other nuts, these nuts are less likely to become round once loosened or tightened. The square nut is one of the bolts that typically mates with a square head face. These nuts are found used with flat washers to avoid damage from sharp edges.

T-slotted nuts

T-slot nuts are nuts that are usually used with threaded parts in order to position and secure workpieces working in different shops.T-slot nuts are nuts that slide with a T-slot track that is set in a table or band saw.T-slot nuts are applied with T-slot structural frames in order to build various industrial structures and machines.

T-slot bolts are stronger than T-slot nuts or hexagonal head screws.

What are the differences between bolts and nuts?

There are some differences in the appearance of bolts and screws. Bolts, when equipped with nuts, are cylindrical with threads, and bolts have six corners, while nuts are flat.

The role of bolts and nuts is also different, bolts are generally used as mechanical parts, with the use of nuts, but also cylindrical bolts with large threads to strengthen the tightness, alone there is no way to use, must be used with the nut, basically for the neck to connect the two through-hole parts.

The nut is a part that connects the machinery and equipment closely together, and can be connected together only through the inner thread and the bolt.

The application of bolts and nuts is also a certain difference, bolts are generally used in mechanical digital electricity, electronic products. And nuts are generally used in cars, trucks, buses, compressors, construction machinery, wind power equipment, mobile machinery fasteners, drilling equipment and casting industry.
