Do You Understand the Maintenance of Stud Bolts?

April 29,2022

The type and material of Stainless Steel Stud Bolts are determined by the grade. There are two kinds of common Stainless Steel Stud Bolts (also known as full thread studs). The threads are divided into coarse threads and fine threads. The coarse thread is represented by M and nominal diameter, and the fine-thread is represented by M and nominal diameter × Pitch representation.

The fastener standard stipulates that M36 bolts use coarse thread, and M36 and above diameters can use fine thread, and the pitch is 3. BM = 1D double head stud is generally used for the connection between two steel connected parts; BM = 1.25D and BM = 1.5D double-headed studs are generally used for the connection between cast iron connected parts and steel connected parts; BM = 2D double-headed studs are generally used for the connection between aluminum alloy connected parts and steel connected parts.

The former connector is provided with an internally threaded hole, and the latter connector is provided with a through-hole. So where should we learn about stud bolt maintenance? Today, we will sort out the maintenance knowledge of Stainless Steel Stud Bolts for you.

Stud bolt maintenance knowledge

Generally, known bolts refer to screws with a larger diameter. According to this statement, the diameter of screws is much smaller than that of bolts. Stainless Steel Stud Bolts have no head, and some are called stud bolts. Both ends of the stud bolt are threaded. There is no thread in the middle, and the middle is a polished rod. Stud bolts are used on large equipment, such as reducer frames. In practical application, the external load will vibrate and the influence of air temperature will reduce the friction, and the threaded connection will relax and fail over time. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain the Stainless Steel Stud Bolts at ordinary times.

Stud bolts or anchor bolts will have problems under the action of mechanical friction for a long time. In case of problems, remove the engine oil pan, carefully check the use of engine bearing shells, check whether the gap between bearing shells is too large, and replace them in time if the gap is too large. When replacing the stud bolt, also replace the connecting rod bolt. Some large-scale equipment, such as nail-making machines, should be stopped for inspection in time if it is found that the engine is not running very stably or there is abnormal noise during normal operation, to avoid greater problems.

During each maintenance, the newly replaced stud bolt and other newly replaced accessories shall be inspected. The inspection shall focus on the head and guide part of the stud bolt, strictly check whether each part of the thread has cracks or dents, and check whether the tooth shape of the stud bolt has changed. Is there any abnormality in the pitch? If there is any abnormality, it must not be used again. A torque wrench should be used when installing connecting rod cap. It must be tightened according to the specified standards, and the torque shall not be too large or too small. Pay attention to the selection of Stainless Steel Stud Bolts and studs from supporting manufacturers.
